Our story
A neighbourhood dental clinic
Klinik Pergigian Setapak (Johor Bahru) is an established dental clinic with a simple mission, in the clinic's own words: to prioritise oral health that is affordable to everyone. Our practice in Taman Sri Tebrau looks after the neighbourhoods around Jalan Perisai, and the Klinik Pergigian Setapak name has been part of Malaysian dentistry since 1987.
Most of what we do is general dentistry for the whole family — check-ups and scaling, fillings, root canal treatment, extractions and wisdom teeth, crowns, bridges and dentures, with braces, clear aligners and whitening for patients who want to straighten or brighten their smile. Children are welcome, nervous patients are welcome, and walk-ins are welcome. You do not need an appointment to be seen, though messaging us first means less time in the queue.
We also keep hours that fit around working lives. Monday to Thursday we are open from 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and Friday to Sunday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM — seven days a week. Patients often tell us they chose this clinic because they could come after work, or because a child's broken tooth at 10 PM needed somewhere that was still open. Staying open late is a deliberate part of how we look after Johor.
Our identity
The sign on our wall
Walk into our clinic in Taman Sri Tebrau and the first thing you see is this wall: the clinic's own mark — a tooth held inside an orbit ring that ends in an arrow pointing up and to the right — set in black acrylic letters above the words KLINIK PERGIGIAN SETAPAK and (JOHOR BAHRU).
The same mark appears on our blue signboard out on Jalan Perisai, opposite Crystal Crown Hotel. For us it is a small reminder of what a dental visit should feel like: steady, forward, and a little brighter than when you walked in. It is the piece of the clinic patients photograph most, so we have given it the space it deserves here.

Sterilisation between every patient
Reusable instruments are cleaned and sterilised after every single patient, and the sterilisation area is kept separate from the treatment rooms.
Protocol and equipment detailsto confirm
Single-use items, used once
Needles, gloves, suction tips, cups, bibs and other disposable items are used for one patient only and then disposed of — never reused and never "just rinsed". Sharp items are disposed of through clinical waste handling.
Surfaces cleaned between patients
The dental chair, work surfaces, handles and equipment that a patient touches are wiped down between appointments, and the waiting area and restroom are checked through the day. Patients regularly describe the clinic as clean and comfortable, and we intend to keep it that way.
